Ronaldo With His Family

Cristiano Ronaldo is the son of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro (a cooker) and José Dinis Aveiro (a Municipal gardener). Many say that Ronaldo's humble family origins are the reason why CR7 manages to deal so well with the fame and spotlights he has nowadays. Cristiano Ronaldo has two older sisters, Liliana Cátia and Elma, and one older brother, Hugo.
Cristiano Ronaldo family
Cristiano Ronaldo first steps in football/soccer were made in his amateur hometown club called Andorinha, when he was still 8 years old. A couple years later, CR7 moved to CD Nacional, one of the most known teams in Madeira, around his 10th birthday. But he didn't stay there for too long and the year after (1996), Ronaldo was persuaded to join Sporting Lisbon, one of the biggest clubs in Portugal.

 Early career
At the age of eight, Ronaldo played for amateur team Andorinha, where his father was the kit man. In 1995, Ronaldo signed with local club Nacional, and, after a title-winning campaign, he went on a three-day trial with Sporting CP, who subsequently signed him for an undisclosed sum.

Club Football

Sporting Lisbon In the 2002/2003 season, Ronaldo played 25 games for the club, scoring 3 goals. IN the inaugural match of the new José Alvalade stadium (Sporting’s stadium that was renovated for Euro 2004), Ronaldo played a terrific match against Manchester United. With this great performance, the United’s players asked Sir Alex Ferguson to sign the Portuguese guy to substitute for the superstar David Beckham on the team.
Manchester United In 2003, Ronaldo signed a contract with Manchester United, where he made United’s fans quickly forget David Beckham. With a great squad, Chelsea started it’s dynasty in England, winning the Premier League in that year. But Ronaldo was known as a great revelation with the jersey number 7. This number is magical for the Manchester side - three of the main legends in the history of the club had the number 7 in the back (George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham).

After a not so brilliant start, Ronaldo started little by little to honor the number 7. He scored goal number 1000 in Premiership for Manchester United in 2005. In 2006, he scored in the Carling Cup Final and helped to win the trophy. But it was finally last season the World could see what this Portuguese boy could do. Cristiano Ronaldo finally won a Premiership title with the Red Devils. Elected the best player in England on the 2006/2007 season, Cristiano Ronaldo was the “key” for the Manchester United’s championship after four years and finishing Chelsea’s dynasty. Besides, he took the United to the semis of UEFA Champions League, when a painful loss to Milan ended the dream of the third title of the.

International career
Ronaldo made his international debut in August 2003, against Kazakhstan. He scored Portugal's only goal in their 2–1 loss to Greece in the opening match of Euro 2004 and the first goal of the semi final against the Netherlands, which Portugal won 2–1. The final saw a rematch of the opening game of the tournament, and again, Greece emerged victorious.
Cristiano Ronaldo with Sporting de Lisboa
Ronaldo represented Portugal at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and was the second highest scorer in FIFA World Cup qualification in the European zone with 7 goals. As of 17 June 2005, he has scored 11 goals in 25 appearances for his country.
Ronaldo scored his first World Cup goal against Iran with a penalty kick.
In the Round of 16, he left Portugal's 1-0 win over Netherlands injured after a high tackle by Khalid Boulahrouz.
